Sangkla - Somchai Cafe

A misty morning - the chalet has a balcony that overlooks the hill slope.  Somewhere among the trees and the bushes flows a river.

We had one of the best coffee in this cafe.

Our chalet, there were all manners of noise from the insects during the night.  We wondered if we had been visited by a wild boar some stage!

Market - a young mother feeding her son breakfast.
Don't you look at me !!

Sangkla Wooden Bridge

Local kids offering their guide service.

455m long.

Life on the river.

A family having fun bathing their dog.

A most pleasant evening walking the long bridge with the sun going down next to us.

Sangkla - Oag Pansa (Buddhist Lent)

Some info of the occasion here

We parked next to these beautiful fish patterns.

Isn't he cute?

Kai and his entourage preparing the offerings.  Does monk need shampoo . . . ?
The Chief monk, slow in steps and looking a little frail.

The locals each come with a sack filled with offerings for the monks.

Too much to join the crowd!
Man and woman tube skirts with traditional patterns.

We walked into the crowd and couldn't get out!
These ear and arm jewelleries  are just stunning!
